My name is Osinbajo Tajudeen, I hold a Master’s in Agricultural Science from  University of Ilorin, Kwara state.

It all started about 15 years ago… when i began to feel dizzy and excessively thirsty on a Saturday afternoon while working on one of my farmlands at Lajolo village , kwara state. I drank all of the 10 liters of water we had alone,my workers had nothing to drink, infact we had to leave the farm earlier than we scheduled because ,they were thirsty .I got to my wife , Nkechi ,who I married during my service year in Enugu ,she told me ,it could have been that i over stressed myself and my body needed fluid because I was dehydrated. she advised that I should drink less water before bed ,and that I should eat light food, which I did…I was well rested and felt good and strong again the next day.

Two weeks later,i noticed that i was urinating frequently at night, i didnt take it serious i felt it was normal . I took anti-biotics for STI which a pharmacist along my street recommeded. I began to loose weight without trying , AH ! ,at this juncture, my wife became nervous ,i was scared too…She bought me Blood tonic , and multivitamins which i took for three weeks. it worked ,i was regaining weight ,although slowly.

On this fateful day, i was free after church service ,i decided to weed the compound, the hoe i was using hit a small stone and bounced toward my ankle, the pains was something i never felt before…..luckily ,Nkechi was around, she helped with the wound. She got me some antibiotics and dressed the wound. By day 7 ,the wound was itching me but was not healing, kept on expanding. 

I met a Dr. at the general hospital in my community ,the doctor immediately recommended some tests. He then told me i had type 1 diabetes mellitus , and that my blood sugar level was high and that i needed to start treating it immediately. H recommeded Insulin injected subcutaneously , antibiotic ointment medication for the wound and metformin.

I was going to the hospital every 72 hours to dress my wound , until i got tired and asked my wife to do it for me at home. Two months after, i decided to try out  private Dr. .The Dr. claimed i had Diabetes Type 2 and not type 1, He recommended metformin  and phenytoin . I spent Nearly 5 million naira treating soars and managing diabetes from one hospital to another.
